How to submit editorial to Biomass Products & Technology

Biomass Products & Technology magazine is published 12x/year and reaches plant maintenance and operations personnel and senior level management in the biomass industry.


Feature article submissions
• Biomass Products & Technology requires authoritative and well-researched feature stories that range between 1,500-2,500 words in length. Feature articles should not promote a specific product or service, but should focus on a new process or technology, how it was applied and the subsequent results.
• Copy should be formatted in Microsoft Word or plain text and submitted via disk or e-mail.
• Images and graphics also are encouraged; please see below for more information.


Case study submissions
• Biomass Products & Technology requires well-researched, attributed case studies that range between 1,200-2,000 words in length. Case studies are not meant to be a product promotion, but an accurate record of how a specific product or service was applied and its results.
• Copy should be formatted in Microsoft Word or plain text and submitted via disk or e-mail.
• The editor has the right to reject, edit or return case studies for rewrite as deemed appropriate.


Product release submissions
• Product releases should include the company’s name and contact information, as well as product information between 250-400 words in length. Releases should not be used to publicize business news, but strictly new product or service information for professionals in the biomass industry.
• Releases must contain accurate product information and should be formatted in Microsoft Word or plain text. Releases can be submitted via e-mail or disk.

Images:
You are strongly encouraged to include photos, illustrations and/or graphs with your article. Digital images are preferred, but slides, transparencies or photos are welcome. If submitting non-digitized images, then please be certain they are clear. Hard copy for charts and graphs should be laser quality (i.e., as good as the original). All images should be identified with photo captions.

Guidelines for electronic images:

  • Formats: TIFF or JPEG
  • Applications: Illustrator, Photoshop, Freehand, PageMaker, Word, Acrobat, and QuarkXPress files for MAC
  • Media: CD-ROM or e-mail (Call or email for FTP instructions if necessary.)
  • Minimum of 300-dpi-resolution (600 dpi or higher is preferred)

Author bio:
Bios should be no longer than one short paragraph and are subject to editing, depending on space availability.

Related material:
Submitting related material suitable for a sidebar would add value to the article. This may include reference guides, tips, or other facts relating to the subject matter.

Article acceptance:
The editor has the right to reject, edit or return articles for rewrite as deemed appropriate. If your article is not accepted for print publication you will be notified in writing via mail or e-mail. Rejected submissions may still be considered for online Web Exclusive use. Each article submission should include your full name, title, company, complete mailing address, phone number with area code, fax, and e-mail address. Authors will automatically receive two free copies of each publication containing his/her article. Please contact the editor if you need additional copies.
